DFM chat on the use of images and news pictures in social media

A Google Glass motion image composite from a recent parade.
Journalists, members of Digital First Media and pretty much everyone else who wants to - are going to be taking part on the weekly Twitter chat at noon, Eastern Time.

Today we are talking about the use of news images in social media. Should photographers post their news photos to those platforms? (SPOILER: Yes. But how?) What are the pros and cons of posting copyrighted photos to Twitter or Facebook? How can news orgs use Instagram or other platforms for images?  What platforms are out there that journalists can use?

You can check out past chats over here. If you use Tweetchat you don't have to type the hashtag.

If you want to chime in, post a comment in the container or a tweet with the hashtag "#dfmchat" so it can automatically appear below.
